The last Jen got a ridiculously ostentatious 6.1 carat pink diamond engagement ring. This time Ben has gotten his new Jen (Jennifer Garner) a lovely 4.5 carat
diamond engagement ring.

The Diamond Diva points out that this ring cost only half as much as the first diamond engagement ring that he bought. Well, I say "only". Its still estimated to be worth a cool half a million dollars. Maybe that's all Ben's willing to gamble this time.

Well, that's the rumour anyhow. The guys over at News Askew haven't heard anything about it. So, maybe its all bunkum. Time will tell.

Not that I'm saying Paris's jewelry is only fit for dogs. She really has made a tribute to her chihuahua by creating a line of jewelry for dogs in her Paris Hilton Collection.

What's the word I'm looking for? Oh yes - ridiculous. If anyone's going to be wearing the jewels in my family, its certainly not going to be the chihuahua.

Those poor Osbournes! It was only last November that Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne had seven pieces of jewelry stolen, now eOnline reports that their son, Jack has also been hit.

Apparently sometime during a flight, theives stole $300,000 worth of watches and other jewelry from his suitcase.

Except in that metal bands have done more to further the cause of piercings than any other part of the community, the death of a rock star probably doesn't have much to do with jewelry. It does have something to do with this particular blogger though. I've always loved music and Pantera was a big part of my high school days.

Dimebag Abbott was the driving force of Pantera, he and his brother Vinnie however both left the band and moved onto other things. Their latest band, Damageplan, was just starting a gig when a complete loser, who hadn't been able to con his way into the concert for free, ran across the stage and shot Dimebag five times. He died onstage infront of hundreds of fans and his brother, Vinnie Paul.

Twenty four years to the day after another crazed lunatic assassinated Lennon, we find history repeating. Have we learnt nothing in the intervening years?

Tomorrow, everythinig will be back to normal and we'll be discussing jewelry as always, but for today, please take a moment to think of this senseless taking of Dimebag's life, and send your best wishes and thoughts to his family.

Ozzy Osbourne and Sharon Osbourne have been robbed of seven pieces of jewelry. The gems were taken from their country mansion in Buckinghamshire, England early Monday morning.

Some of the items stolen include Sharon Osbourne's wedding rings, a 24 carat sapphire and several watches. There is a 100,000 pound reward being offered for the return of the jewelry.

Who cares? All I care about is the diamonds. Which is lucky as its the most prominent gemstone out there. As bead village points out, it seems chandelier earrings are back in style.

At the highest end of the scale is a belly chain going for $95US, which might be slightly out of the young teen market's budget.

Its all a bit too pink and girly for my taste though, I'm afraid.
