Carolyn Rafaelian, creator and designer of Alex and Ani, was born into a family of jewelers. Growing up in Rhode Island, she spent many hours in her father's factory. Utilizing the family's massive archives of vintage stones, Swarovski crystals, and unique castings dating back to the 1940s, Rafaelian brilliantly turns the jewels of the past into present day gems. Alex and Ani, which is made in the USA, is named after her two daughters and features everything from feather earrings inspired by Lynrd Skynrd to spiritual medallions and, of course, the signature expandable wire bangle.
