Here is some good news to report about the Atlanta Jewelry show. Looks like it was a success. This is good to hear because I know many shop owners travel a good distance to shows like this to stock up on jewelry merchandise and related gift items. If shop owners are happy, that means good news for the entire jewelry industry.

While show organizer the Southeastern Jewelry Travelers Association (SJTA) doesn't release actual attendance figures, executive director Carol Young said show attendance through Sunday was up 8 percent over last year, and she expected it to be up by 9 percent overall. There were about 30 more vendors this year than last, with the show growing from 500 to 600 exhibitor booths, in what Young called the largest spring show ever held."

Some of the jewelry items that shop owners were restocking included wedding and engagement rings; watches; charm bracelets; white and yellow gold chains; and diamond pendants and solitaires.
