Attending a Wholesale Jewelry Show

I recently was able to attending the G&LW (Gem and Lapidary Wholesalers) Show in Orlando, Florida. And, as usual, I didn't go way without a bag full of goodies.
If you are thinking of attending a G&LW show, here are a few things you'll normally need to get through the door (other wholesale shows may have similar requirements):
- First, you need to pre-register. G&LW requires you to do this by asking for a copy of your state tax ID. They keep it on file, and then send you a program for up coming shows, which basically works like an invitation.
- Bring the program with you to the show. On the back is a card that you detach and hand to the nice folks at the registration table. They check your name off and hand you a badge
to wear during the show that identifies you as a show attendee. - Bring extra copies of your tax ID because both the registration folks and vendors in the show may ask you for this. I've never been asked for this, but they have the right to do this, and it's better to be safe than sorry.
