Beautiful Bali Jewelry
John Hardy doesn't sounds like the name of a jewelry maker from bali, but this luxury jewelry designer made his home in beautiful Bali in the mid-1970s and managed to combine his design ideas with local artisans:

"John Hardy the designer moved to Bali from his native Canada in 1975 and studied traditional Balinese jewelry techniques from local masters. He then applied these techniques to his own unique design vision. With the collaboration of his wife and muse Cynthia, he developed a workshop that now employs over 600 people, including an international management team from Europe, America, Australia and Asia. The Hardys, who live in Bali and New York, believe in a concept of 'sustainable luxury' in which beautiful things are made in an environment that is gentle and respectful."

If you are ever lucky enough to visit Bali, the John Hardy design center offers free tours of their facilities.
