Non-traditional jewelry making techniques are tricky. While I always applaud the use of the unordinary when it comes to jewelry designing, it doesn't always work out. Crochet is one of those techniques.

Now, don't get me wrong. I like crochet. It was one of the very first crafting techniques I ever mastered. Who can forget that first crochet pot holder? But, for jewelry designing, I think it tend to be hit or miss.

That is why I had to stop and take a second look at Sonya Ooten's line of signature crochet jewelry. She's one of the few jewelry designers that seems to have hit on designs that are unique, wearable, and aesthetically pleasing, all using the unorthodox jewelry technique of crochet.
