Richard Alan, owner of The Harbor goldsmith, a jewelry store located in southwest Florida, recently returned from a jewelry buying trip to Europe, and gives us the skinny on his educated guesses for up coming jewelry trends. Among a few of his predictions described in his article " Trendy Jewelry Can Be History Tomorrow" published in the Marco Island Sun Times, Richard prophesizes the following:

  • White metals are more popular than ever, and this means we'll see lots more white gold since platinum is so outrageously expensive these days.

  • Rose or aka pink gold was super popular this summer in Europe, so we may see some over here (yeah! I love colored gold!).

  • Rings that your mom or grandmother would have worn are " totally" in now. Thus " antique reproductions are still the rage for engagement rings."

  • Threader earrings are still hotter than ever. In fact, Richard says he can barely keep them in stock even now and expects to see this continue.
