Fine Jewelry Goes Natural
According to the August 2006 issue of Modern Jeweler, one of the jewelry trends we'll continue to see sizzle in fine jewelry is the return to naturalism, but with a subtle difference than we've seen in the past:

There's a new naturalism inspiring design this season. The floral motifs of seasons past have evolved into a more abstract and elegant biomorphism. These refined organics are the strongest new direction of the year.

So, I surfed around looking for examples of this "naturalism" and with the help of some suggestions from this issue, here is what I found.

The matte and shiny finish on these earrings are designed to emulate that same reflective light that you see on the surface of calm ocean water.
