Fluid Jewelry
Word is out that Yndigo Designs, a jewelry company run by Kim Lyons, has a new collection out called "Fluid."

From a company press release:

Making use of the bold colors and innovative "ethno-chic" design they have become known for, Yndigo Designs (www.yndigo.com) has launched an exciting new collection inspired by the beauty and fluidity of the movement of water: The Fluid Collection.

The centerpiece material of Yndigo Designs' exciting new Fluid Collection is the Paua Shell. Often found in seas around New Zealand, Paua is from the abalonelinks family and features a gorgeous, rich metallic sheen that brings a unique sophistication to each of the necklaces, earrings and chokers in the collection.

Other distinctive materials featured in the collection include oyster shells as well as dazzling sterling silver. With the clever use of blue and green colors, each of the pieces featured in the Fluid Collection bring to mind the serene movement and beauty of the sea.

"I'm thrilled to release the Fluid Collection just as Summer gets underway," said Yndigo Designs Owner and Designer Kim Lyons. "In creating this collection, I was very much inspired by my love of water and all of the relaxing, invigorating properties associated with it," Lyons continued.

Lyons is spot on trend-wise with her use of natural materials such as shell. As part of the mixed-media jewelry craze that has exploded of late, materials such as shell, wood, and leather are extremely popular right now.

Normally, I would question whether shell could cruise into fall, but her use of Paua shell is interesting since it's a darker shell than say something like mother-of-pearl.

The unique beauty of the Paua shell shines through in this 3-strand necklace with teardrop pendant. Accented with purple Oyster shell and sterling silver; finished off with an adjustable sterling clasp.

The fluid style of this gorgeous collar makes it a stand-alone piece. Approximately 20 inches long, use this as the centerpiece with your strapless or off-the-shoulder tops. Finished off with a sterling silver hook clasp, accented with a Paua shell heart.
