From Board Room to Bead Room
Texas-based jewelry designer Gaye Fields spent 30 years running on the corporate treadmill. Then after retirement, she discovered what had been missing from her life - jewelry designing:

Before I began designing jewelry I worked for 30 years in corporate America. During that time I often felt an elusive internal battle. After retiring in 2000, it became clear that the more successful I was in the corporate sense, the more I suppressed my creativity. That 30-year internal conflict was the artist in me struggling to be heard.

Congrats to Gaye for breaking free and finding her gemstone muse. She also seems to have found a great new career. You can find her all over Texas and other southwestern states at her various trunk show and other events. See the Events section on her web site to find out where she'll be next.

Pictured above is one of her super long knotted necklace designs:
Opera length necklace of large yellow coin pearls, grey Swarovski pearls and faceted cherry quartz rondelles. Can wrap 2-3 times around neck. 36"
