I've posted a number of times about the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). Looks like they are trying to boost their class rosters:

From Diamonds.net: "Gemological Institute of America (GIA) will host the gem and jewelry industry's recruiting events in two venues this year, the GIA said in a press release on January 28. The first Jewelry Career Fair will take place in New York City on July 28 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The second recruitment event will take place two months later on September 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., at GIA headquarters in Carlsbad, California.

Job seekers at GIA's Jewelry Career Fair will acquire contacts, career development information, industry knowledge, career Coaching sessions, workshops, and résumé reviews.

The 2006 fair marks the GIA's 16th year of hosting the recruiting event which is specifically tailored to the gem and jewelry industry. In 2005, over 2,000 job seekers attended the fair and nearly 100 companies participated. Representatives from Tiffany & Co., Saks Fifth Avenue, Fortunoff Fine Jewelers, Zale Corp., and Christies have all participated in previous career fairs."
