I am very glad that you wrote about this. Consumers need to be aware that all stones are not created equally. This cannot be stressed enough. As owner of an online jewelry store, I get asked a lot of times why one store's sapphires are priced very high while another store's are very cheap. Some people will even buy their jewelry at a department store chain thinking that they got a bargain. They did not. They got what they paid for, which is a cheap, low grade, bottom of the barrel stone that a lot of jewelers would never consider selling.
