Normally, invitations are sent out to special customers for the one day event, and the artist will bring a " trunk-full" of jewelry items to show and sell. One company, Rendezvous Gallery, has decided to turn the idea of a trunk show into a way to help promote their artists: " Rendezvous Gallery is a virtual art gallery that presents the work of artists from across the country, showcasing items such as original fine art, furniture, sculpture, glass art, ceramics, metal, wood, fiber and handcrafted jewelry to a national clientele. [...] Each new online trunk show features between 60 and 100 pieces of jewelry consisting of necklaces, earrings, bracelets and pins doubling as pendants. Amy Kahn Russell's bold collection combines semi-precious gemstones, natural minerals, pearls, shells, and found objects gathered from around the world."
