This story has been all over the news down here in Florida (as reported by JCK magazine):

" Jeff Reardon walked into Hamilton Jewelers at the Gardens Mall on Monday and handed an employee a note saying he had a gun and the store was being robbed, Palm Beach Gardens police reportedly said. The 50-year-old pitcher fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash. Police found him at a nearby restaurant, recovered the stolen money, and charged him with armed robbery, the AP reports."

I saw a news report soon after the incident that said the former star pitcher was experiencing emotional problems. I have to admit that I'm not a baseball fan, but of course, I've heard of Jeff Reardon before. Hopefully, he'll get some help.
