Jewelry Fashion Don’ts

For Manolo's Carnivale, the next topic is " Fashion Don'ts That Make You Crazy." Here are a few of my jewelry fashion peeves:
- Tarnished metal jewelry - especially silver. Yikes! I've even seen people trying to sell dark, ugly silver jewelry, and I'm not talking about purposeful oxidation here, folks. I'm talking icky silver jewelry that needs to be cleaned and polished. Go to Wal-Mart and buy a polishing cloth already; it's worth the five bucks.
- Too many rings and not enough fingers. You don't need a ring on every single finger; you just don't.
- Mr. T style gold chains. Though I see more Misses than Misters doing this, while stacking is in, over-stacking will never be. Layer so you can still see each piece, and three is the magic number here. Even two is nice, one choker length and one extra long.
- Again, more is not better, especially with body jewelry
. Too much body piercing distracts from the person you are adorning - yourself. Jewelry, even funky piercings, should enhance your body, not turn you into a weird looking pin cushion. - Over glittering - yes, glitter is in but don't adorn yourself with so much sparkle you look like a 70s disco ball.
