Kevia Jeffrey-West's exposure to the world of fashion began at five years of age, while spending hours looking over her mother's clothing sketches and playing with fabric swatches. Soon they began making doll-sized versions of her mother's line. She had the best-dressed Barbie in existence and developed an eye for color, contrast, texture, and detail - skills she now uses to design her line of jewelry. Kevia means beautiful child.

All Kevia jewelry is handcrafted using precious and semiprecious stones, leather, silk, feather, 14K gold, 14K gold filled, and silver findings. Kevia's jewelry is influenced by travel and her ongoing exploration of mixed media art. Her college and graduate school studies led her to Africa, where precious stones are mined and readily available.

Kevia's interest in fashion jewelry was sparked as she searched for her bridal party jewelry. Unable to find just the right thing, she raided local bead stores and made her first earrings and necklaces. During and after the wedding, friends asked about having her jewels for themselves. Eight months and a successful trunk show later, Kevia began taking boutique orders.

Kevia approaches jewelry design much like writing poetry: each design captures a fleeting thought, tells a story or transforms a notable moment into wearable art. Each piece is packaged with a story about its design inspiration. Kevia believes the beauty of jewelry is in the details, thus each necklace closure is uniquely hand beaded. Her jewelry collections are hip, youthful, elegant. She is currently living and designing in Portland, Oregon.
