American Idol contestants were all a glitter, and of course I'm not talking about their singing, as Melinda Doolittle and Jordin Sparks got to select some fabulous baubles.

Both gals performed in platinum jewelry by Kwiat on last night's show. Melinda selected a rare platinum and 2.8 carat diamond necklace and a bracelet. Jordin opted for a pair of platinum and 8.7 carat diamond earrings.

Boy, I remember...I think it was the first American Idol where contestants made their own jewelry...Who was that singer I'm think of? Well, no matter. Now things are totally different. They are high end platinum these days. Maybe that will lead to a platinum record as well.
