Lois Hill's latest journey unearthed the amazing technique of Kuftgari, in which tiny cross slices made into steel are then filled with 24k gold and sterling silver that are annealed and hammered into the piece. She began with a small team of 7 artisans while researching ancient techniques, and now she is responsible for training hundreds of artisans worldwide.
