Serena Williams, one of America's top tennis pros, loves her " bling." According to the Chicago Tribune, she " said one of her 14-karat gold earrings, reportedly valued at $40,000, fell out Monday during her 6-1, 6-3 first-round victory against Yung Jan-Chan at the U.S. Open in New York." Designed by Erica Courtney, they are called " Dream catcher" and included 13kts of yellow and white diamonds in a platinum setting. Sister Venus would not be outdone though. As reported by the New York Times, she " wore a chunky layered necklace of pearls, turquoise, gold beads and tourmalines in her 6-3, 6-1 victory over Rika Fujiwara on center court. Her earrings also fell off during the match."

Seems kind of uncomfortable to wear all that jewelry while playing tennis, but I guess to these women, the tennis court is the equivalent to the red carpet. So, you go girls!
