Designer Jon Wye introduces his latest jewelry design, "Petruchio Sea Heart Necklace."

Available at Unsung Designers, the website describes it as follows:

"It's made of bamboo beads, limpets, and sea hearts; some of nature's most stuborn children. Bamboo grows like a weed and is strong enough to be used in everything from furniture to flooring. Limpet's are mollusks that adhere to rocks of tidal areas, against crashing waves. Sea Hearts or Columbus Beans are seeds that come from trees or vines that grow along tropical shores and fall into waterways around the world only to follow current and find a new home. Supposedly the Sea Heart inspired Columbus to search for new land in the west. And it is a Gulf Stream of Sea Hearts that he followed. The center of the necklace is a Sea Heart, a tough little critter traveling hundreds of miles to find a home. They are the ugly duckling of the seed world when you first find them, but after 2 months of grinding and polishing in a tumbler they take on a rich chocolate color. This necklace is litterally months in the making."
