Tiffany Gives Gem Money

eye candy to tantalize the public. Tiffany is giving a gift of 1.1 million dollars (which I bet won't fit inside one of its signature boxes) to the Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History.
From Tiffany Foundation Gift to Help Smithsonian Go Gem-Shopping:
For most of its history since 1884, the Smithsonian's gem collection has depended on gifts - the most famous being the Hope Diamond. The 45-carat blue gem was donated in 1958 by the famous New York jeweler Harry Winston.
$1 million from the Tiffany gift will be invested in the Smithsonian Trust. The endowment will pay out about $50,000 per year at the start. The museum will also use part of the Tiffany gift to build an exhibition case to show off its purchases.
